National Chainsaw Sculpting Invitational set for Sept. 25-27, 2009 in Downtown Hackensack, MN

 

 

The Fifth Annual National Chainsaw Sculpting Invitational will take place in downtown Hackensack, MN on September 25, 26 & 27, 2009

 

This is Hackensack's Original chainsaw sculpting event, sponsored by the City of Hackensack and a host of local charitable organizations. As always, it takes place in beautiful downtown Hackensack. While other chainsaw carving events have sprung up in the area, please note this is the Original, city- and civic group- endorsed festival. Proceeds will be used to cover event expenses, and fund the charitable activities of local non-profit organizations.

 

R.D. Coonrod, will bring a few select professional  carvers from--"The Loghoggers"--to the event. In addition, other select guest carvers, including hand carver Jeff Phares,will be featured. Jeff's new book, "Carving Human Faces II" will be available for purchase and autographs.

 

All carvings will be sold at a live auction on Sunday, beginning at 1:00p.m.

 

This event is fun for the whole family. In addition to watching the wood carvers, there is a craft village to wander through, games for the whole family, plus  food and beverage vendors on hand.

 

Hours are: (rain or shine)

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday & Saturday

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday

 

Admission is $5, and FREE for children 11 years old and younger. Look for your FREE program booklet, filled with information about each wood carver, event schedule, and of course, there is plenty of FREE PARKING & SHUTTLE SERVICES.
